One report. Three perspectives. The clearest picture yet of where virtual care is going.

Virtual care has quietly become central to how Americans access care. Our triangulated survey research examines how patients are using it, how providers are integrating it into clinical practice, and what the outcomes data shows — across patient safety, satisfaction, access, and clinical improvement.

Virtual Care in America: The Populus Report is the first benchmark to ask patients, healthcare providers, and pharma marketers the same questions about the same virtual care moments. What emerges is a picture of how virtual care is reshaping patient outcomes and impacting clinical workflows.

Developed in partnership with DHC Group, PM360, and Researchscape International, the research draws on 1,093 patient interviews, 125 HCP surveys, and 63 pharma marketer conversations. The findings reveal what’s actually happening across adoption, patient trust, provider integration, and clinical outcomes.

Built with some of the industry’s most trusted partners

The Populus Report is a collaboration between Populus and three organizations with deep authority across the virtual care ecosystem:

Populus Health Technologies — the virtual care media company

DHC Group — healthcare market intelligence and HCP research

PM360 — the industry’s leading publication for pharmaceutical marketers

Researchscape — national-scale consumer and patient research

Virtual Care in America: The Populus Report Webinar Series

The Data is In. Are you?

Though the report reveals six different themes, they look different from every angle: what patients want, what providers are building into, and where pharma has room to play. So, we’re bringing you two sessions — one grounded in patient findings and what’s coming next, one anchored in how providers are already using virtual care and where pharma fits in. Together, they give you the complete picture just as the full report publishes. And by registering, you’ll receive exclusive access to the full report before is released to the public.
Session 1: The Patient Perspective

Thursday, June 18th @12:30PM/ET

WATCH NOW!

Patients didn’t wait for the industry to define virtual care. They redefined it themselves. In this opening session, we crack open the patient findings before the report publishes, walking through how access, trust, and attention have reshaped the way patients want to be engaged. We’ll get specific about the moments patients are inviting support and the ones where the industry may be overlooking.

Panelists Include:

Ray Rotolo (Chief Experience Officer, Populus)

Christine Franklin (Executive Director, DHC Group)

Special Guest Panelist: Taylor Wexler, Director of Investments, Point of Care at Havas Media

And hosted by Andrew Schulman (Vice President, Marketing, Populus)

Session 2: The HCP Perspective

Thursday, June 25th @12:30PM/ET

Every marketer knows providers use virtual care by now; the real question is what the data tells us about how they’re actually using it and what that means for where pharma fits. This second session digs into the HCP findings and how virtual care has moved from experiment to the way providers manage follow-ups, prescriptions, and chronic care. We’ll walk through what the outcomes data shows: where providers are seeing real clinical gains, how they measure success differently than patients or marketers do, and what improved follow-up completion and reduced no-shows signal about the workflow. Then we hit the most interesting tension in the report: providers are significantly more open to pharma in these moments than execution reflects. For anyone planning their virtual care media strategy in 2026, it’s the data-driven answer to where provider openness meets pharma opportunity.

Panelists Include:

Edith Hodkinson (Chief Strategy Officer, Populus)

Christine Franklin (Executive Director, DHC Group)

Special Guest Panelist (To Be Announced)

And hosted by Andrew Schulman (Vice President, Marketing, Populus)
